The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to be one of the biggest betting events of the year, and BetMGM Sportsbook NY  is rolling out a variety of promotions, free-to-play games and wagering options tied to the tournament.

From NY sports betting bonuses linked to U.S. men’s national team goals to a Tim Howard-themed free-to-play game, New York bettors will have several ways to engage with the action beyond traditional wagers. Here’s a look at what’s available.

How BetMGM’s Goal Rush promotion works

The centerpiece of BetMGM’s World Cup offerings is its Goal Rush Grand Prize promotion.

Eligible customers who place a qualifying pre-match wager of at least $5 on a U.S. men’s national team match will receive a share of $500,000 in bonus bets for every Team USA goal scored during the tournament.

For example, if the Americans score multiple goals in a match, bettors who qualified for the promotion would receive a share of the bonus bet pool tied to each goal. Bonus bets expire after seven days and are non-withdrawable.

Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer, said in a statement:

“BetMGM is built around delivering legendary moments, and there is no bigger stage in soccer than the World’s Game.

“We’re giving our players the opportunity to connect directly to the action with every goal scored by Team USA.”

In addition to BetMGM, all legal New York sportsbooks are offering several markets on Team USA matches.

Team USA begins World Cup play against Paraguay on June, where odds are already available for the match. PlayNY broke down how bettors can wager on Team USA during the biggest tournament in the world.

Tim Howard takes center stage

Former U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard is a major part of BetMGM’s World Cup campaign.

Beginning June 11, bettors can play Tim Howard’s Penalty Kick Shootout, a daily free-to-play game available through the BetMGM sports wagering app. Players attempt to score against the U.S. soccer legend for a chance to win rewards including bonus bets, parlay boost tokens and odds boost tokens.

No wager is required to participate.

More than 300 markets per match

Beyond promotions, BetMGM says bettors will have access to more than 300 wagering markets on every World Cup match.

The operator is also highlighting enhanced same-game parlays, premium odds flashes and wager-tracking features as part of its tournament coverage. BetMGM plans to host watch parties and fan events throughout the competition as soccer takes center stage this summer.

For New York bettors, the combination of goal-based rewards, free-to-play contests and expanded wagering options could provide plenty of opportunities to stay involved throughout Team USA’s World Cup run.
