Sweepstakes casinos that have exited New York
The NY sweepstakes industry is in flux as legislation from Sen. Joseph Addabo to ban sweepstakes casinos makes its way through the State Senate. At the moment, nothing is decided. However, New York Attorney General, Letitia James, confirmed sending cease and desist letters to 26 sweepstakes casinos operating in New York.
Some have exited already and some are planning a staged exit. And it hasn’t all gone according to plan. RealPrize, which left New York in late March, closed up shop a day before the announced date and left customers unable to redeem their SC.
