DraftKings is offering New York sports bettors a subscription based service that provides better odds, bonuses and rewards on parlays. The offer is available to “select customers who are physically located in the state of New York,” according to the operator.
The gambling company is calling the new feature DraftKings Sportsbook Plus (+). It’s certainly the first time a sports betting company has offered customers a subscription of this kind. DraftKings Sportsbook is not afraid to test the waters with different ideas.
The company provided details with how the new capabilities work for subscribing NY sports bettors.
What is included with DraftKings Sportsbook Plus (+)
DraftKings has not disclosed who exactly would be eligible for the new service. However, those who can sign up will receive “Stepped Up” boost tokens, which can be used on parlays and same game parlays.
For $20 a month, subscribers can use the tokens on individual legs are -500 or narrower. On parlays of two legs, customers would see a profit increase of 10%. In addition, parlays with 11 legs have a profit boost of 100%.
Users would be able to apply the boost tokens within 30 minutes of signing up, according to DraftKings.
How to sign up for DraftKings subscription
The operator does not say what kind of customers eligible for the new feature, other than select New York players. DraftKings provides step-by-step instructions on how to purchase the subscription:
- Log in to your DK account via the mobile application.
- Tap your Profile Icon in the upper right corner.
- Under Balances, tap the DraftKings Sportsbook+ Tab.
- You will be brought to the DK Shop to complete the purchase of your subscription, where you must be logged into your DK account.
- If the DraftKings Sportsbook+ Tab is not visible on your profile page or if this offer is not available on your Promotions Tab, you are not eligible to sign up for a subscription at this time.
It is offering eligible users the first month free. All subscriptions can be managed in the DK Shop.
DraftKings has been aggressive in parlay offerings
Parlays have become a huge factor in the sports betting industry across the country. DraftKings has certainly come up with creative ways to entice customers to bet parlays.
In December 2023, the operator launched Progressive Parlays, which allows bettors to win parlays without having to hit every leg. For example, a player could win a six-leg parlay with only five hitting. However, the odds would drop to the equivalent of a five-leg parlay.
A 10-leg parlay would only need eight legs to win the bet, but would be paid out as an eight-let parlay. It has been popular feature for the company, which has led to the new DraftKings Sportsbook Plus (+).
With parlays being so popular, it’ll be interesting to see how this new strategy works for DraftKings. Will the $20 a month be worth it to customers for better odds on parlays? Only time will tell.
