With NY Online Sports Betting, It’s A Good Idea To Have Accounts At Multiple Sportsbooks

NY Sports Betting Betting Apps

A new era of legal gambling has dawned in New York.

Online sports betting is alive and well in the Empire State. So well, in fact, that New York bettors combined for over $600 million in wagers over the first nine days.

Of course, the state features five online sportsbooks. Many individuals have already started shopping around with each betting app. Many likely have determined which sportsbook deserves their business. But only the one operator.

Here’s the thing, though: When it comes to the NY sports betting industry, it’s actually a good idea to own accounts with multiple betting apps in New York.

Why you should open accounts at multiple NY betting apps?

One of the best strategies you can employ as a new customer is to open accounts at multiple sportsbooks. There are two main reasons for that, and both are financially beneficial to you.

The first point is that sportsbooks offer up huge bonuses for new customers. That means that if FanDuel New York wants to give you some money and DraftKings NY wants to give you some money and Caesars Sportsbook NY does too, you might as well take advantage of it.

These bonuses are generally pretty big, and you usually only get it on your first deposit (although some sportsbooks do offer smaller reload bonuses). If you don’t have accounts at the books yet, deposit at each one and collect the bonus. It only takes a few minutes to create a new account, so you might as well collect the incentives while you can.

Secondly, having accounts at multiple sportsbooks allows you to shop around for the best odds. For the most part, sportsbooks have similar lines, but you will find slightly better prices from one to another.

For example, maybe the New York Giants are -2.5 at FanDuel but -3 at DraftKings. That slight difference can be significant as it can decide a win or a loss. At the end of the day, by having accounts at multiple books, you can shop around for the best line so that you’re making sure that you’re winning as much as possible every time you bet.

If you only have one account, you’re stuck with that company’s prices. With multiple accounts, you can always lock in the best line.

If I have a FanDuel or DraftKings DFS account, can I claim new-user promotions?

FanDuel and DraftKings have been offering daily fantasy sports (DFS) to customers in the state of New York for a few years. But now, they are supplementing that offering with sports betting.

If you are already a DFS customer with FanDuel and DraftKings, you can still qualify for all of the different sportsbook bonuses that are available to customers who are completely new to the companies.

As a matter of fact, FanDuel and DraftKings have stated that they will reach out to all of their current DFS players and send them various communiques – either e-mail, text or various other methods – to make them aware of the different sportsbook bonuses that they can qualify for.

Keep your eyes peeled as the sportsbooks are being very generous these days, so you can pick up a sweet chunk of change simply by making a deposit and placing a couple of bets.

Can I use my NY betting app in New Jersey (or anywhere else)?

One important note to remember is that your location matters.

To place a bet through any of the New York sports betting apps, you’ll actually have to be physically present in the state. All of the sportsbooks do geolocation checks. If you’re not in New York or even on the boundaries sometimes, they won’t allow you to bet.

However, keep in mind that if you do travel the country and happen to land in another state where sports betting is legal – like Colorado or Arizona – you can simply open an account and play there for the period of time that you’re there.
