When Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady opened its doors back in February, it was more casino than casino & resort. The casino was open, as were most of the amenities and dining options. However, the property’s 165-room hotel wouldn’t come online until sometime in the summer.

Rivers Schenectady provided a more specific date for the ribbon-cutting on the hotel, which will hopefully transform the property into a destination New York casino.

Mid-July ribbon cutting for casino hotel

During a job fair over the weekend, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady announced The Landing Hotel would be open for business in mid-July. Rivers will begin taking reservations in the coming weeks.  Per a press release from Rivers Schenectady:

“As the Capital Region’s newest upscale boutique destination, the 165-room hotel includes four-star-caliber amenities with a focus on providing guests with a unique, personalized experience. Well-appointed rooms and suites provide the perfect balance for business and recreational travelers and the modern sleek exterior shimmers along New York’s historic Mohawk River.”

The hotel will be a welcome addition to the casino, which has been receiving stellar reviews from visitors, and just pulled off one of the biggest poker tournaments in the region’s history.  Rivers Casino & Resort General Manager Mary Cheeks spoke about the casino’s progress:

“Casual elegance, first-class service, amazing food, and access to the best gaming in New York, will ensure that Rivers Casino & Resort guests will be treated to the very best travel experience in the Capital Region. The addition of our new upscale boutique hotel signals that we are full steam ahead at Rivers. In the weeks ahead we’ll be rolling out the red carpet for our first overnight guests and welcoming over one hundred new members to the best team in town.”

The Landing Hotel General Manager Ryan Cimei chimed in as well.

“The Landing Hotel is going to be a great addition to Rivers Casino, and a destination in its own right in the Capital Region. The property will provide the highest quality guest experience for whatever reason you’re visiting Rivers – entertainment, business, or a wedding or conference in our Event Center.”
