Customers at Turning Stone’s New York casino properties faced cash-only payments and unavailable ATMs after a cybersecurity incident disrupted the operator’s network and communications. Sports betting, bingo and the TS Rewards loyalty program were also affected, according to Casino.org.

Turning Stone Enterprises shut down selected internal systems as a precaution while cybersecurity specialists investigated. The company said the shutdowns were intended to protect guests’ personal information.

Three New York casinos affected by service outages

The disruption affected Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, Point Place Casino in Bridgeport, and YBR Casino & Sports Book in Chittenango. Customers could not use credit cards at the properties on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The outages extended beyond casino operations. The Lake House at Sylvan Beach, Maple Leaf Markets and SavOn convenience stores were also operating on a cash-only basis.

For visitors, the payment disruption was compounded by the loss of on-site ATM access. Cash-only operations therefore came alongside the unavailability of a service customers could otherwise use to obtain cash at the properties.

Sports betting and bingo operations were unavailable, while the incident also knocked out TS Rewards. Those interruptions affected both payment services and specific gambling and loyalty functions across the operator’s business.

Cybersecurity investigation and restoration work continue

Turning Stone said it had found “no evidence that confidential information had been accessed,” according to WKTV reporting cited by Casino.org. The investigation remained ongoing.

The company was working with cybersecurity specialists to restore services. In a Facebook statement reported by Syracuse station WSYR and cited by Casino.org, Turning Stone Enterprises said it was “working at full speed with cybersecurity experts to return to full working order.”

Turning Stone said it would publish evening updates on service availability until the disruption was resolved.
