Sharp Seven and Who Dares Wins each won New York Sire Stakes divisions for 3-year-old trotting fillies at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a Saratoga Casino Hotel press release, Sharp Seven captured the second $82,500 split in gate-to-wire fashion. Driven by Jason Bartlett and trained by George Ducharme, the 3-5 favorite set the pace, reached the half in 58 seconds, and drew off to win by close to six lengths in 1:55 4/5.
R Ro finished second in that division, with Flying Copper third. The win pushed Sharp Seven’s career bankroll to just shy of $500,000 in 18 starts. The filly was also identified in the release as the 2025 two-year-old Sire Stakes champion.
Who Dares Wins took the first $84,000 division, also on the front end. The 3-5 favorite won by a length and a quarter in 1:56 4/5 for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Ake Svanstedt.
Chant finished second and Jula Hot To Chill was third in that race. The release said Who Dares Wins, owned by Order By Stable Ab, recorded her second straight win in New York Sire Stakes competition.
For racing fans planning a visit, Saratoga said live racing resumes Saturday with first post set for 6:45 p.m. EDT.
