Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties said a $25,000 grant from Resorts World Catskills helped fund a new electronic medical record system, a technology upgrade the nonprofit says should improve patient care and staff efficiency.
The funding came through Resorts World Catskills’ RW Gives charitable giving program. Hospice said the new system, called FireNote, is designed to improve real-time access to patient information, speed communication, and strengthen care coordination.
FireNote system aimed at care and workflow improvements
According to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, the electronic medical record platform is expected to enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen end-of-life services.
CEO Eric Gatsik said the technology will help clinicians respond more quickly to changing patient needs while also supporting more informed decision-making. He also said the system should reduce paperwork and administrative tasks through automated workflows, giving staff more time with patients and families.
Hospice said the upgrade is also expected to improve accuracy, compliance, reporting capabilities, and data-driven decision-making.
Resorts World Catskills backs project through RW Gives
The hospice said Resorts World Catskills provided part of the funding through a $25,000 grant. Gatsik thanked the casino resort for supporting the project and for recognizing the importance of hospice care.
For Resorts World Catskills, the grant adds to the operator’s community-facing activity in the Hudson Valley and Catskills region, though this announcement is centered on charitable support rather than gaming operations.
Staff training is underway before go-live
Hospice said staff training is already underway and will continue into July, when FireNote is scheduled to go live.
The announcement did not specify whether the Resorts World Catskills grant covered the full cost of the project or identify any other funding sources tied to the implementation.
