Ramborain and driver Dan Daley won the $7,500 featured trot at Vernon Downs on Saturday night, taking the feature in 1:54.0. For racing fans and bettors following the meet, the result added a $7.32 winner to the card and another season victory for the 5-year-old gelding.
Ramborain rallies first-over to take the feature
What A Mission set the early pace, reaching the quarter in :26.3 and the half in :56.1. Ramborain moved first-over around the final turn, then took the lead by the three-quarters mark in 1:25.0.
From there, Ramborain held on to win in 1:54.0. Tiktok Roy, driven by Jimmy Whittemore, finished second, while Beaueastel, with Chris Long in the sulky, was third.
Ramborain paid $7.32 to win.
Another seasonal win for the Dan Daley trainee
Ramborain is a 5-year-old gelding by Crazy Wow. He is trained by Dan Daley for owners Ann-Mari Daley, JLRL LLC, Todd Van Alstyne and Margerot Waterbury.
The Saturday victory was Ramborain’s third win of the season and the 16th of his career.
The rest of the Vernon Downs program also produced multiple-driver and trainer milestones. Chris Long posted a driving triple, while Leon Bailey recorded a driving double. Gary Gibson and Luke Carswell each had training doubles.
