New York sportsbooks combined to take $619.4 million in wagers for the week ending Oct. 4, according to the New York State Gaming Commission, marking the fourth-highest weekly handle in state history. The market generated $49.2 million in gross gaming revenue, with FanDuel finishing well ahead of DraftKings in weekly revenue despite similar betting volume.

The total handle was up 8% from the previous week and 12.5% from the same period in 2025. It was also the second time in the first four weeks of the NFL season that New York sportsbooks topped $600 million in weekly wagers.

FanDuel turns similar volume into a wider revenue lead

FanDuel accepted $228.2 million in bets and produced $23.6 million in gross revenue, good for a 10.3% hold for the week.

DraftKings handled more than $200 million in wagers, but generated $13.8 million in revenue on a 6.4% hold. That gap in hold helped FanDuel widen its lead in weekly revenue even though the two operators were closer in handle.

For New York bettors, the weekly report shows how operator results can vary sharply even when overall wagering volume stays high during football season.

Fanatics holds third as other books trail the market leaders

Fanatics remained third among New York sportsbooks after taking $70 million in wagers and posting a 7% hold.

Behind the top three, Caesars handled $44.6 million in wagers and recorded a 4.9% hold, the lowest among New York’s eight active sportsbooks. BetMGM took $38.1 million in wagers with a 7% hold, while BetRivers accepted $13.6 million and posted a 7.8% hold.

The latest figures continue to show how heavily New York’s market is concentrated at the top during the NFL season, with FanDuel and DraftKings accounting for the largest share of weekly betting activity.

What New York players should watch next

Weekly handle reports remain one of the clearest snapshots of how New York’s online sportsbook market is performing as the NFL season continues. Readers looking ahead should watch whether the state keeps clearing the $600 million mark in coming weekly reports, and whether FanDuel can maintain its revenue edge over DraftKings. If you bet, do so responsibly.
