DraftKings is expanding its DKeX prediction market platform ahead of the 2026 football season, with subsidiary Railbird Exchange filing self-certifications with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for nine football-related event contract categories.

According to the filings, the products were expected to become certified on Aug. 12 and could be listed for trading afterward through the regulatory process. The move adds more football exposure to a platform that DraftKings launched in June after acquiring Railbird Exchange in October 2025.

What DraftKings filed for

The new football contracts cover categories that closely resemble standard sportsbook markets, but they are structured as prediction-market event contracts on DKeX.

The filings include contracts tied to game winners, point spreads, totals, player and team statistics, game-level statistics, in-game achievements, player comparisons, season awards and outright competition results. The products apply to professional and college football competitions, including the NFL and the College Football Playoff.

DraftKings has also recently filed for its COMBOS product, which lets users combine multiple event contracts into a single position. In a regulatory filing, the company said those contracts "settle on a joint outcome of two or more constituent contracts listed on DKeX" and are categorized as swaps.

Growth in DraftKings’ prediction-market business

The football rollout comes as DraftKings continues to scale its prediction-market operation. CEO Jason Robins said football season could significantly increase activity on the platform.

DraftKings reported that annualized prediction-market volume rose from $2.3 billion in April to $11 billion in July. The company also said more than 600,000 customers have used the product this year.

DraftKings added that more than half of Predictions customers previously used combination contracts offered through Crypto.com’s exchange infrastructure, and about 20% of consumer trading volume came from COMBOS.

What players should watch next

For players following the space, the key near-term question is whether the football contracts were certified as expected and when they began trading on DKeX. The expansion is another sign of how prediction markets are moving closer to traditional sportsbook-style offerings, especially around football season.

As always, readers should pay attention to product availability, market rules and responsible gambling practices before using any wagering-related platform.
