BetMGM is launching a new set of NFL-focused sportsbook and casino products ahead of football season, adding tools such as injury protection on some player props, real-time odds alerts, expanded cash-out options, and free-to-enter games with weekly prizes.
The operator said the updates are meant to improve the overall betting experience as competition for players intensifies at the start of the NFL season. BetMGM offers sports betting in more than 30 states, though the company did not specify in the source material which jurisdictions will get each feature.
New sportsbook tools center on football betting
Among the additions is BetDefense, which returns a stake on a player prop if the selected player is sidelined by injury. BetMGM is also introducing Odds Flash, a notification feature for football odds changes across pro and college games.
The company said it is also making performance upgrades to its sportsbook, including faster page loads, improved navigation, and better live betting functionality. In addition, it is expanding Cash Out options to give bettors more flexibility to settle football wagers early.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said bettors want more than “just a place to make a wager,” pointing instead to “memorable experiences, meaningful rewards, and opportunities to stay connected to the action.”
Casino tie-ins and retail contests join the NFL push
On the casino side, BetMGM is adding football-themed games, including team-branded slots and live dealer products. It is also launching season-long games such as Ultimate Teams, a free-to-enter contest with a chance to win a share of $50,000 weekly.
At MGM-branded retail sportsbooks, including locations in Nevada, BetMGM said it will run free-to-play Pick’em Contests during the season. The source did not identify which retail books will participate.
Revenue was flat in Q2 as handle edged higher
The product rollout comes alongside mixed recent financial results. BetMGM reported Q2 2026 net revenue of $228 million, flat from a year earlier. For the first half of 2026, net revenue reached $431 million, up 2% year over year, while overall handle increased 3%.
For bettors, the immediate takeaway is straightforward: BetMGM is putting more NFL-specific features front and center for the season, but details on rollout timing, state-by-state availability, and the exact terms of those features were not provided in the source material. As always, gamble responsibly.
