The New York Racing Association has branched out in its sponsor categories by adding an “official mobile lottery partner” to its array. To commemorate the new deal, there’s a Jackpocket NYRA promo available for users of the mobile app.
What is Jackpocket and why is it in league with the NYRA now? Read on to find out the answers to those questions and exactly how to collect your free lottery ticket in NY.
Details on the Jackpocket NYRA promo
Jackpocket is the first and only licensed third-party lottery app in the US. Essentially, Jackpocket makes the trip to lottery retailers for you and converts physical tickets to digital copies that you can access in its app.
In NY, you can purchase Mega Millions, Powerball and Win 4 tickets on your smartphone using the app. The NY State Gaming Commission approved Jackpocket as a digital lottery courier service in 2019. Thus far, it’s the only service of its kind in the state.
After downloading the app and registering for an account, you select which games you want to play. Then, you either pick your numbers or choose to let a computer select the numbers for you. Then, Jackpocket personnel purchase your tickets and scan them into the app.
If you win, you get every cent of your winnings, minus any taxes the lottery has to withhold. For winnings of $600 or less, the amount gets deposited right into your Jackpocket account. You can withdraw the funds from there in a number of ways.
If you win a bigger prize, Jackpocket arranges for secure delivery of your winning ticket to you. From there, you’ll need to contact the NY Lottery to claim your prize. Before you finalize your first purchase, though, you should take advantage of this promo.
At checkout, enter the code “PONIES” for a free lottery ticket. The partnership with the NYRA is about much more than one free lottery ticket, though. It could lead to a lot more winnings in pari-mutuel pools.
Jackpocket to sponsor NYRA events
As part of the deal, Jackpocket becomes the title sponsor of the $400,000 GI Jackpocket Jaipur on June 5 at the Belmont Stakes. That six-furlong race serves as an automatic qualifier for the GI Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.
Jackpocket also gets preferred partner status with Belmont Park and the Saratoga Race Course. In addition, it will sponsor the Jackpocket Handicapping Challenges. That is a series of one-day handicapping contests at NYRA tracks with a $3,000 buy-in.
Four events in that series will happen at Aqueduct Racetrack in addition to Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course over the course of the rest of this year. With the free ticket promo, the Jackpocket-sponsored races, and the handicapping challenges, Jackpocket offers New Yorkers a lot of ways to win.
