Another Resorts World will enter the New York casino gambling landscape in two weeks.
The New York State Gaming Commission on Monday approved the video lottery terminal (VLT) licensing of Resorts World Hudson Valley, clearing the way for the latest VLT to ready for a grand opening on Dec. 28.
“Resorts World Hudson Valley represents a shared vision that we, along with our partners in Orange County, had to create an entertainment destination that will attract hundreds of thousands of guests and visitors,” Robert DeSalvio, president of Genting Americas East, said in a press release, “while providing tremendous benefits to the local, regional and statewide community.
“We are delighted to open our doors this holiday season and welcome everyone to Resorts World Hudson Valley!”
Resorts World Hudson Valley set to open Dec. 28
Located at the Newburgh Mall just 60 miles outside Manhattan, Resorts World Hudson Valley will open in time to ring in the new year.
With a 10 a.m. opening, the VLT will feature plenty of gaming and entertainment opportunities for visitors.

According to the press release, the casino will “provide a halo effect” inside the property. Its location will help play “a crucial role” in revitalizing the mall and its current tenants while also attracting new businesses.
On top of that, Resorts World Hudson Valley creates 250 full-time jobs and expects to contribute $65 million in annual taxes to support public schools in New York.
Third Resorts World casino set to open doors
By now, New York is well-acquainted with the Resorts World brand, owned by Genting.
Upstate, Resorts World Catskills operates as one of the state’s four commercial land-based casinos. Closer to the big city, Resorts World NYC expects to enter the fray soon, as many consider the property as one of the frontrunners to land one of three downstate NY casino licenses.
Of course, the brand also boasts one of nine New York sports betting apps. Resorts WorldBet launched as an online sportsbook in March.
Now, the Hudson Valley property is ready to get in on the action.
