Gaming Society and the American Gaming Association (AGA) have announced a partnership to promote the AGA’s “Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly” campaign, which strives to authentically educate sports bettors, including those who participate in New York online sports betting.
Gaming Society is an organization that aims to make the sports betting industry more accessible and inclusive. To do so, it pushes for underserved groups to become more educated regarding the sports gambling landscape.
The organization’s partnership with the AGA and its campaign will bring the following content and resources:
- Regular content and features in Gaming Society’s newsletter
- More social channels for public discussion
- A revamped gaming platform
- Tools and resources available on Gaming Society’s website to promote the AGA campaign
Promoting responsible sports betting ‘more important than ever’
Gaming Society’s website includes storytelling articles in an effort to drive gaming behavior. The company believes in shedding light on the fun and social benefits of sports betting, while providing information on how to game responsibly.
Gaming Society was co-founded by NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett, who recently released this statement regarding the partnership:
“At Gaming Society, our mission is to make sports betting more accessible, responsible, and easier to understand. As sports betting continues to grow, the need to promote responsible betting is more important than ever. We are excited to join the AGA’s Have a Game Plan initiative and provide education for every type of bettor, whether they are first-timers or experienced.”
Added Cait DeBaun, AGA vice president of strategic communications and responsibility: “Gaming Society understands that player education is core to the future growth of legal sports betting. We’re excited to welcome them as a Have A Game Plan partner and authentically spread responsible gaming messages to new and experienced players alike.”
Four pillars of ‘Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly’
The AGA’s campaign, which over 30 other stakeholders have joined in on, is broken down into four pillars that encapsulate the goals of the movement.
That includes:
- Setting a budget and sticking to it
- Keeping betting social
- Knowing the odds
- Play with legal and regulated operators
Gaming Society doesn’t just post articles educating bettors on the importance of safe gambling. It takes a more hands on approach to instill the knowledge in its audience.
An example of this is Gaming Society’s Bet Club, a free-to-play NFL game that teaches users to bet in a safe environment. But users do compete for prizes given out by Gaming Society.
Gaming Society also has Betting Academy, which provides the basic knowledge every person should have before placing their first wager. This is a free service available on Gaming Society’s website.
