Legal online sports betting in New York came in like a lion. Now, so is BetMGM.

In time to capture some of the NFL playoffs, and well ahead of the Super Bowl, BetMGM Sportsbook NY has launched in the Empire State with an exclusive sign-up bonus for new users of a bonus bet up to $1,500.

Although BetMGM becomes the fifth betting app in New York, any time in January is ideal considering the most popular sports betting event in the country, the Super Bowl, sits just a few weeks away.

And now, new BetMGM users can begin signing up with the app and get a jumpstart on the NY sports betting action.

BetMGM NY launch offer details: Up to $1,500 in bonus bets

Just in time for the final game of the NFL playoffs wild card weekend, which culminates with the Arizona Cardinals at the Los Angeles Rams tonight, BetMGM went live to give the Empire State five online sportsbooks.

Now, New Yorkers can start downloading the app and creating their BetMGM accounts to get in on the action.

On top of that, new users with BetMGM can claim an extraordinary sign-up offer.

After opening the app, users can register their accounts by starting the sign-up process with a click of the banner above (or by using the promo code PLAYNY). Once complete, bettors become eligible for the $1,500 bonus bet.

Wager any amount you like. If you win, you’ll pocket those winnings as if it was any other bet. A loss, and BetMGM will refund the entire amount of the bet up to $1,500. This will stand as site credits, not actual cash to withdraw. But you can use that bonus bet for a chance at real cash.

Bettors will have seven days after signing up to take advantage of the bonus bet offer.

How to sign up with BetMGM New York

With NY online sports betting fully launched, obviously New Yorkers will have to be located within state lines in order to place legal wagers.

However, no such restriction exists for signing up and depositing.

All BetMGM users will need are a few pieces of personal information to submit. This allows sportsbooks to confirm the identities of its users and ensure they can participate in legal New York online sports betting.

Those pieces of information include:

  • Legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Last four digits of Social Security number
  • Residential address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number

After entering this info and agreeing to the BetMGM terms and conditions, New York bettors will have completed the sign-up process, and their sign-up bonuses will be on the way.

BetMGM expands sports betting reach to New York

New York has long been a target of legal online sportsbooks. Now, BetMGM can call the Empire State one of its own.

It joins a list of more than a dozen other jurisdictions in which BetMGM offers regulated wagering. Other states include nearby New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

BetMGM has already started laying roots in New York. In fact, just days after learning the New York State Gaming Commission selected the sportsbook as a licensed operator, BetMGM announced it had entered into an agreement to become the official sports betting partner of Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers.

So add BetMGM to the list of online sportsbooks in New York. The others include:
