A fourth lottery courier service has launched in New York.

According to a press release, theLotter went live in the Empire State late last week, offering New York Lottery players another chance to purchase tickets online after theLotter received a license from the New York State Gaming Commission.

As a result, theLotter “will be launching soon,” according to the announcement.

“Our launch in New York marks another significant milestone for theLotter, following closely on the heels of our successful launch in New Jersey only a month ago,” Peggy Daniel, US general manager of theLotter, said in a statement.

“As someone who grew up in the tristate area, I am immensely proud that our company has been licensed as a lottery courier in the state. We are thrilled to be able to continue extending our services into additional states in the coming months.”

Fourth NY Lottery courier service launches

With theLotter’s pending launch, New Yorkers will have a fourth option to purchase lottery tickets for games such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and other local draw games via theLotter’s website and mobile app.

Like its competitors, theLotter completes purchases at licensed retailers on customers’ behalf. Those tickets then get scanned and uploaded to users’ secure online accounts.

“Once a player wins a prize, we notify them instantly,” Daniel said in a press release. “For prizes less than $600, the winnings are deposited directly into their account at theLotter. If a player wins a larger prize, we support them every step of the way, from receiving their physical winning ticket to collecting their prize in person at the state lottery offices.”

New York marks the latest market for theLotter, which also operates in New Jersey, Minnesota, Oregon, and Texas.

“With theLotter,” Daniel said, “it’s all about maintaining transparency and security, reinforcing the trust we’ve built with our players over time.”

TheLotter looks to cash in on huge NY Lottery market

Born in 2002 in Europe and based out of Malta, theLotter joins lottery courier services Jackpot.com, Jackpocket, and Lotto.com.

While newer to the industry than its competitors, theLotter looks to gain a footing in New York, where lottery sales exceed $8 billion annually to represent one of the biggest markets in the country.

Where theLotter differs, however, is how it charges customers. Other couriers charge upfront fees on customer deposits, for example. TheLotter, though, charges a commission on purchased tickets and does not take a cut of any winnings.
