Iona Basketball Odds

You can’t bet on New York-based NCAA teams or games from within the state yet, but you can bet on Iona basketball online in New Jersey.

While Iona isn’t the first school you might think about for NCAA basketball in New York, Rick Pitino’s Gaels have drawn a lot more attention at sportsbooks of late. Iona has never officially made it out of the first round of the NCAA Tournament (the NCAA vacated Iona’s only March Madness win in 15 appearances), but Pitino-led teams are always a threat in postseason tournaments.

Iona basketball props and live betting

You can take your Iona basketball betting to the next level, beyond standard pregame lines and futures, with live and prop bets at online sportsbooks in New Jersey.

Props are essentially side bets on smaller aspects of a game, such as statistics for individual teams or players. Live betting, also known as in game betting, meanwhile, allows you to bet in the middle of the action during a basketball game. Live odds change with the action on the court, making sports betting apps the best way to keep up with Iona Gaels men’s basketball odds.

Iona basketball betting lines explained

When Iona meets Niagara University, the line might look like this at top books, such as DraftKings Sportsbook or on the BetMGM app:

SpreadMoneylineTotal
Iona-8.5 (-105)-460Over 142.5 (-115)
Niagara+8.5 (-125)+320Under 142.5 (-110)

First is the spread, with the odds in parentheses. As the favorite, Iona has to win by nine or more for a bet on the Gaels to win. A Niagara win, or a loss by eight or fewer, means the Purple Eagles cover. The -105 odds pay $100, plus your bet back, for every $105 that you bet. The -125 odds pay $100, plus your bet back, for every $125 that you bet.

Second is the moneyline. These are straight-up bets with no spread. Bets on the favored Gaels pay $100, plus your bet back, for every $460 that you bet if Iona wins. Bets on the underdog Purple Eagles pay $320, plus your bet back, for every $100 that you bet if Niagara wins.

Finally, there’s the total. You can bet that the combined score by both teams will be 143 points or more. If you’re right, the bet will pay $100, plus your bet back, for every $115 that you bet. You can also bet that the combined score will be 142 points or fewer. If you’re right, the bet will pay $100, plus your bet back, for every $110 that you bet.
