Point Place Casino overview

Point Place Casino in Bridgeport, New York is set to open March 1, 2018 and become the Oneida Indian Nation’s third Central New York tribal casino. The other two are Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona and the Wizard of Oz-inspired Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango.

The $40 million-plus casino was built on Route 31 near the corner of Bridgeport-Kirkville Road. Technically it is in the town of Sullivan in Madison County near the Cicero town line in Onondaga County.

Construction began in May 2017 with plans to wrap up in the spring of 2018. The project finished ahead of schedule and as much as $10 million under the projected $50 million budget.

The 65,000 square-foot facility features 500 slot machines and 20 table games. There are two casual restaurants, Wicked Good Pizza, which also has locations at Yellow Brick Road Casino and Turning Stone, and The Burgers of Madison County.

The casino also will have two bars, The Fireside Lounge and Paddle Bar. Further amenities include Opals Confectionary, a chocolatier, and bakery. Opals Confectionary also operates a Turning Stone location.

Plans are to keep the 24-hour casino completely smoke-free. There is parking for about 800 vehicles on the property.

Another Turning Stone satellite

Point Place Casino was designed to be similar in size to the Oneida Indian Nation’s 67,000-square-foot Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango. The Wizard of Oz inspired casino has more than 430 slot machines and 14 table games.

Of course, the Oneida Indian Nation’s flagship casino property is its Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona. Turning Stone Resort & Casino is spread across 3,400 acres. It features a variety of luxurious hotel accommodations:

  • Full-service spa
  • Gourmet and casual dining options
  • Five golf courses
  • Nightclub
  • World-class casino.

The casino itself has:

  • More than 2,000 slots
  • 80 table games
  • A 30-table live poker room
  • Keno lounge
  • High-stakes Bingo hall.

Turning Stone opened in 1993 as New York State’s first casino.

Point Place Casino will be open to anyone 18 years of age and up.

The same executive team that operates Turning Stone Resort Casino and Yellow Brick Road Casino will oversee Point Place Casino.

  • Three Card Poker
  • Four Card Poker
  • Spanish 21

Ready for an online future thanks to social casino

New York lawmakers are not currently considering legislation which would open up an online casino market in the state. But if they ever do, Point Place Casino owners and operators the Oneida Indian Nation would be ready for it. The organization already offers free-to-play online casino games and slots through its Turning Stone Online Casino mobile app for iOs and Android devices.

The Turning Stone Online Casino app has more than 50 free casino slots and table games that pay out in rewards players can use on the property. It also provides information about events, offers, and promotions at Turning Stone Casino Resort. Real-money gaming and a Point Place Casino is probably just a few mouse clicks away from becoming a reality.

The state seems much closer to legalizing and regulating online poker. Turning Stone Casino Resort currently hosts one of the largest poker rooms in the state and the Oneida Indian Nation would likely be players in a New York online poker market. Whether its new Point Place property plays a role in that remains to be seen.

Joining the Turning Stone family

The Oneida Indian Nation’s Yellow Brick Road Casino runs its own regular promotions, including giveaways and sweepstakes. However, it also takes part in Turning Stone Resort Casino’s TS Rewards Card player loyalty program.

Plus, points earned with the card can be redeemed for:

  • Merchandise
